Draper gave me a virtual dope-slap (if you don't listen to Car Talk with 'Click and Clack-The Tappet Brothers' on NPR Saturday and/or Sunday mornings, you're are DEFINITELY spending too much time on Twitter) a couple of weeks ago concerning the reality(ies) of not only supplying our STUDENTS with the technical support they need, but the TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT to keep it up and running...as a 'novice' Techno-Weenie on our school support team, I find out yearly how difficult it is to just keep our system up-and-running and useful with so many teachers who refuse to learn aside from turning their printers on, or even plugging them in...

A thought on ... teachers who refuse to learn ...
er...isn't that the same thing most of the teachers you are describing say about the kids in their classes?
We KNOW that kids don't refuse to learn, but when they can not connect with the learning, when it isn't meaningful to them, it doesn't make sense. And often they turn off from learning.
I think this is true of ALL learners, not only kids.
Just something to ponder...
Cheers
Tracy
